CSF, or California Scholarship Federation, is a nationally recognized academic honor society for high academic achieving students. The club is available to ANHS students and is organized by the chapter adviser Mrs. Sepe with Shine Lee (12) as president.
CSF participates in a variety of volunteer work, community service and tutoring. The club is recognized by the majority of universities in California and across the country. CSF looks favorably on college applications and scholarships, highlighting a student’s dedication to high academic and community service standards.
Mrs. Sepe, chapter adviser of CSF at ANHS encourages students to join CSF, sharing how she believes it “encourages students to volunteer, so when they become adults they will pass it on to their children.”
Mrs. Sepe hopes CSF can have an everlasting impact on the students, their own families and the community as a whole.
Although the return on being a CSF member is very high, the requirements are rigorous and require students to stay dedicated to stay as a member. Students are required to have high grades, and potentially Advanced Placement or Honors classes to achieve enough points to become a member. Students are also required to do a variety of activities to maintain points and status as a member each semester, from attending meetings, volunteering to attending college activities.
CSF President Shine Lee says that CSF is “a good opportunity for high achieving students to give back to their community, to meet like-minded students, to do tutoring and to do volunteering.”
Students who already excel while in school are missing out on a window of opportunity that could greatly benefit them in the future. The good CSF does is not only for the students but also the Aliso Niguel community as a whole.
CSF members receive official recognition for their academic excellence and community involvement. They receive a gold seal on their diploma, a gold cord to wear at graduation, and a certificate of membership.
CSF offers various scholarships for its members, such as the Seymour Memorial Awards and the Michelson Memorial Awards. These scholarships range from $2,000 to $5,000 and are based on academic achievement, leadership, and service.
