Aliso Niguel’s “Choc Box” club focuses on helping and giving back to long-term patients at the CHOC Children’s Hospital.
Camryn Liengang (12) says that “the club has a goal of creating boxes that include activities and fun decorations for long-term patients at CHOC Children’s Hospital.”
The members of CHOC Box want to see a positive change with the club and hope to make a difference. The President of the club is Camryn Liengang and the Vice President is her younger sister, Ryley Liengang. The Treasurer is Seirra Yoon and the Secretary is Ashley Sie. They had their first meeting a couple weeks ago and more than 40 people showed up and there were a lot of people ready to make a change. Their next meeting will be in the next couple of weeks before Oct. ends.
Camryn Liengang(12) shared, “The start of the club is going great. I was so happy with the turnout of our first meeting, and most of our members that I talked to are super involved and motivated.” During Club rush in Sept., there were more than 50 people that signed up for CHOC Box.
Camryn Liengang and her peers are confident and prepared for any challenges that might stand in the club’s way. Sometimes coming together for meetings can be difficult, but Camryn is confident that they will still be able to complete any future goals.
Camryn Liengang(12) also says “I am enjoying everyone’s help. It is good to see that our members want to give back in similar ways that I do and I love hearing everyone’s ideas that can make us a better club.” Giving and helping hospitals is a great way to make a positive difference and anyone who is in the club can benefit from being in it. Helping make decorations and giving necessities to patients in the hospital can make a big difference in someone’s day.
For any future goals for the club, the team just wants to make sure they continue to have a great year and are able to meet the goals that they have set for being able to help patients at CHOC Children’s Hospital.
Camryn Liengang(12) said “I will hope to make and continue to make around 10-15 boxes for this semester and hopefully more next semester, and overall to make sure that everyone has a great experience and knows that they are making a difference.”
