As Halloween approaches, some of the things people love about Halloween are the decorations, dressing up, fun activities, and of course, candy! It’s the perfect time of the year to indulge in something sweet or sour and not feel guilty about it. Trick or treating is fun because you get to be surprised at what candy you get.
Camryn Leingang (12) said her favorite candy is candy corn. “It reminds me of the fall season coming up because I only eat candy corn during fall season and it just reminds me of how it is getting colder and the Halloween season.”
Austin Hays (11) said his favorite Halloween candy is “either Skittles or Snickers because I like the sweetness from the Skittles and the caramel filling from the Snickers.”
Ryley Leingang (11) said her favorite Halloween candy is Reeses Peanut Butter Cups because they are delicious. She also said, “I love peanut butter and chocolate, it’s a great combination and the shapes they come in are very cute.”
Tyler Geivet’s (12) favorite Halloween candy is Skittles because he can taste the rainbow and also because he doesn’t like chocolate.
Brandon Thatch (12) loves Reeses Peanut Butter Cup because he doesn’t like Halloween candy so he just likes chocolate and peanut butter.
Anderson Blattner (11) doesn’t have a favorite candy but he enjoys the Halloween pretzels that come in different shapes because it reminds him of the fun of dressing up because he doesn’t enjoy the Halloween candy.
Joseph Perlongo’s (12) favorite candy is a 100-grand bar because of the camel and the chocolate he used to eat when he was a little kid and it is his favorite thing to receive while trick or treating.
Paulo Quinonez (12) his favorite candy is the mini Haribo gummy bears because he likes how small they are and feels like he can eat more of them. He also likes how they come in different flavors and there isn’t just one flavor.
Halloween is a great time of the year because there are a variety of things to do with family and friends. Everyone enjoys getting into the spirit of the spooky season and candy is a great way to get into the season’s mood. For many, Halloween candy is just simply something delicious to look forward to, but many also find a sense of nostalgia within it. Candy helps to bring people back to a time when the October season was all about the thrill of Halloween. Candy even holds fun memories for many Aliso Niguel students because it reminds them of their childhood.
