Being a varsity athlete is a big achievement, but being a varsity athlete all four years of high school is unbelievable. That means that the athlete made varsity their freshman year and continued to make varsity every year.
Leilah Lucas (12) is a four-year varsity athlete for track and field. She is a shot putter who has extreme strength and abilities. She has excelled since she was a freshman and worked hard to become more of the best shot putters at Aliso Niguel High School.
There are three varsity athletes that are on the softball team. They all made varsity their freshman year and helped get the team to playoffs by playing in league games.
Josie Zamora (12) has been a part of the varsity program as an outfielder for all four years. She is primarily a right fielder, but she has played all the outfield positions in her career. In her freshman year, she played on junior varsity at the beginning, but was pulled up by the head coach to play varsity games, earning her a letter and a varsity position her freshman year. Even since, she has stayed on varsity and has worked hard to become an even better player than years prior. In her senior year, she joined the girls flag football team and is the quarterback on the varsity team. Zamora is constantly stepping up to leadership roles in her sports and the teams are having great success.
Gianna Ganje (12) is another four-year varsity athlete that plays softball. She played softball her freshman year making the varsity team, and earning the position of center fielder. Ganje is well-known for her impressive at bats and leading the season in home runs last season and her golden glove in the outfield. Her sophomore year she joined track and has excelled on the track in hurdles. In her senior year, she has added another sport to her resume: girls flag football. It makes her a tri-sport athlete and shows the hard work and dedication within all varsity athletes. In her junior year, she committed to the University of Pennsylvania for softball, which is an extremely impressive achievement that is a reflection of her athletic abilities and success.
Taylor Nelson (12) also is a four-year varsity athlete on the softball team. She began playing softball at Aliso Niguel freshman year and made the varsity team. Her starting position was originally in right field, but she quickly showed her strength as a middle infielder. She plays second base and shortstop, but has begun to play third base as of last season. Nelson has an impressive batting average and is constantly getting on base. She has an amazing attitude on the field and is the model teammate. She is committed to the University of Maryland and will be playing third base. She is an extremely athletic and stand up teammate, and all her success is very well deserved.
Hopefully these four-year varsity athletes have amazing seasons their senior year.
