Friday Night lights are back on at Aliso Stadium with the Wolverines getting back on track with victories in their first two home games.
Leading up to their first home game, Aliso played local rival Laguna Hills for their first game of the season.
The team lost 13-31, then traveled out to the desert to beat Silver Valley High School 34-6.
For their first home game of the season the Wolverines achieved a shutout win. They beat the Valley Christian Defenders 55-0.
Team captain and quarterback Hunter Najm (12) stated that the whole team came out to execute.
“Our offense played great, our guys in the o-line came out and played hard. The defense played great as well, our special team was lights out. Everyone played great tonight.”
The winning continued on to their next game against the Woodbridge Warriors. This time centered around their defense. Aliso crushed the Warriors 27-0 with Cameron Levine (11) and Jarett
Sabol (11) both accumulating eight tackles each. Cavan Kynor (12) was in close second with six tackles throughout the game. Jarett Sabol (11) earned defensive MVP for the game.
Head Football Coach Callahan noted the junior’s success.
“Jarett Sabol really stood out, he was great on defense and ran hard. Our offense line did a good job. We got a shutout and we won the game.”
Although the team effort was not perfect, Coach agreed that they are always willing to take a win, and will fix the mistakes in practice leading up to their next game.
Looking ahead towards league, the Wolverines are set to play against Trabuco Hills, El Toro and San Juan High School.
