A Bittersweet Goodbye
If I could go back in time and do these past four years differently, I wouldn’t.
The people I have met, the things I have learned, and the memories I have experienced are all irreplaceable things that I would not trade the world for. It wasn’t like high school was the best four years of my life, because it really wasn’t. There were people I wish I didn’t meet, things I wish I didn’t learn, and memories I wish I never had to experience. But what is the good without the bad? These experiences have shaped me into the person I am today, the person who is writing this.
Thank you to everyone who has been in my life since August 2019, because even if we don’t talk anymore, you were still once a part of my life and I will always treasure that.
I also wanted to say thank you to my best friends Reede Hendel and Cindy Yang. In the short time I have known them, they have been there for me through everything. If I got anything out of high school, I got two best friends for life.
And thank you to the newspaper team for always being there to wake me up in the morning or laugh at me when I show up late to class.
If I could say one thing to 14 year-old freshman me, I would say this:
Don’t give up just yet. There are lots of things waiting for you : )
